Job Description:

Engineering Center of Excellence, ECOE, is responsible for new product development and modifying existing Products. The products are typically skid mounted with vessels, piping system, control valves, etc. It may also include plant design.

The Project Engineer has single source responsibility for providing the technical solution and deliverables for projects through managing a multi-disciplined engineering team in a matrix organization as well as a third party engineering subcontractor performing detailed engineering work. In general, the Project Engineer will be the primary technical point of contact on all assigned projects and is responsible for insuring that all project technical deliverables meet the requirements of the project from a scope, budget, and schedule perspective.

These products serve the oil and Gas industry, including gas conditioning as well as produced water filtration.

The candidate selected for this position will be responsible for delivering the technical solution through identifying and specifying equipment needs and providing management and oversight of engineering subcontractor(s) performing the detailed engineering for each site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensures products are engineered properly and all engineering deliverables are available to internal and external customers according to schedule.
  • Work closely with designers and others
  • Conducts design reviews and prepare for HAZOP
  • Works closely with vendors to provide technical and commercial info for selected equipment
  • Work closely with estimators
  • Coordinates all aspects of technical content changes during design phase and reports these changes for revised scope, cost, and schedule considerations
  • Interfaces directly with other engineering teams, as required
  • Insures the engineering deliverables complies with Engineering Standards
  • May be required to performs engineering calculations to size vessels, piping, valves and auxiliary systems to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design
  • Responsible for preparing and overseeing the development of bills of materials, Line Lists, Instrument Lists and other engineering deliverables
  • Provides regular updates of engineering status
  • May require some travel to customer offices and manufacturing facilities


Internal Cross Working Relations (Departmental)
  • This position will report to the director of engineering services
  • This position will require daily interface with other teams and/or manufacturing shops .


External Working Relations

* Daily interface with engineering services subcontractors and vendors

Job Requirements
  • Preferred Education and Relevant Experience/Training:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years related experience and/or training in Oil and Gas or relevant industries
  • Experience with incorporating modular or packaged equipment systems into an overall plant design
  • Experience in packaging and skid mounting of equipment


Technical Knowledge and Skills:

Technical Knowledge in ASME, ANSI, API experience and knowledge of applicability

Experience in reviewing multi-disciplinary engineering deliverables

Computer skills:
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • AutoCAD preferred but not necessary


Language Ability:
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
