The Welding Engineer, among other tasks, will have the following responsibilities:

* Develop laser welding techniques, procedures, and applications of laser welding equipment to problems involving fabrication of metals
* Establish laser welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel relating to specification restrictions, material processes, and other items
* Evaluate new developments in welding field for possible application to current welding problems or production processes
* Perform experimental welding to evaluate new equipment, techniques, and materials
* Contact and network with personnel of other agencies, engineering personnel, or clients to exchange ideas, information, or offer technical advice concerning welding matters

Candidates must possess the following skills and experience:

* Bachelor's degree plus experience working with material processing and/or laser welding
* Four (4) years experience with Bachelor's, two (2) years with Master's
* Stong interpersonal skills to enable interface with production associates, engineers, and management
* Self starter with strong process development skills, including use of SPC and DRM principles
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Knowledge of the basic processes/equipment validation theory is a plus
