My client, an investment bank based in Stamford CT, is seeking an AVP level product controller with experience in emerging market interest rate derivatives. The role will be for an initial 6 month contract, with a strong chance of a permanent placement, depending on performance. The role will be paying $50 per hour.Responsibilities:
* Prepare and review preliminary and final P&L on a daily basis.
* Reconcile daily P&L reports to GL and source systems.
* Analyze all components of the daily P&L for accuracy and reasonability.
* Investigate and resolve day to day P&L issues.
* Interact with support areas to ensure all trades are correctly booked.
* Assist in the monthly accounting close process.
* Enhance and improve reporting to the Front Office.
* Provide backup support to other P&L areas.
* Develop close working relationship with respective Front Office personnel while maintaining strong internal control mechanisms.
* Address ad hoc requests from the trading desk and senior firm management.
* Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly commentary explaining market performance and P&L.
Experience:
* 1-5 years experience within a Product Control or other control function of a fixed income trading group.
* Detail oriented, high degree of accuracy in all duties.
* Ability to think and operate beyond standard scope of responsibility, possess strong decision making skills, demonstrate independent judgment.
* Highly organized and adept at time management.
* Ability to excel in a stressful environment, properly prioritize and manage several competing initiatives and responsibilities while meeting firm deadlines.
* Strong team player, able to leverage staff and peers for maximum output.
* Strong project management skills - must have ability to see a project from creation to completion.
* Ability to develop process efficiencies and seek continuous improvement within analytical functions.
