Description

Responsibilities
  • Design HDI circuit boards for mobile devices. Should be able to do component selection, circuit design, simulation, schematic entry, and component placement and routing of PCBs; should be able to work with external layout houses to route complex PCBs, and be able to carry a PCB through fabrication and assembly
  • Specify or design batteries, power supplies, charging systems, and development boards.
  • Support manufacturing with existing products; these tasks include approving new components, re-designing PCBs for cost down or improvements, working with operations on PCB testing and fixture design, and managing ECOs between engineering and operations
  • Work with the Sr. Electrical Engineer and Firmware engineers to bring-up new development platforms; will test circuits in the lab, draw conclusions from test data, and debug circuits and test set-ups
  • Help Sr. RF and Sr. Audio designers with designing, setting up, and executing tests for the development and characterization of RF and audio systems
  • This position requires frequent and close collaboration with RF engineers, firmware engineers, mechanical engineers, audio engineers, test engineers, manufacturing, and external vendors

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly-motivated, self-starter, and team player
  • Good hands-on lab skills; familiar with lab tools such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, current probes, spectrum analyzers, and other test equipment
  • Able to work with both local and off-shore engineering teams
  • At ease with the Linux OS and have some experience with embedded implementation of C or C++; experience with scripting languages and data manipulation is desired
  • A strong interest, or previous experience in audio design, RF design or both
Desired Skills and Experience

Requirements
  • BSEE or MSEE with emphasis in digital systems, microprocessors and digital communications, or equivalent experience
  • 0-3 years of industry experience with PCB level design including microprocessors, power supplies, memory, and basic digital and analog circuits
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB design software; Orcad and Cadence Allegro CAD experience is highly desirable
