WordPress Engineer

Description

The Collective is looking for a WordPress Engineer to coordinate front-end development for our clients’ template sites. This Collective member will be responsible for initial website analysis for our clients, building out websites from templates, CSS styling, coordinating relationship with clients and hosting companies, and working with project managers on WordPress edits and plug-in installment. This is a virtual position featuring a very flexible work arrangement that allows for flexible hours. Because of this flexibility, The Collective has a very strict communication policy to ensure the best service and work environment for our clients and contractors. Pay rate dependent on experience ($50-$60/hr).

Must be proficient in the following programs:

Microsoft Word, Excel

Google Drive

WordPress (html and CSS)

Hosted Project Management Software (our program is Asana)

Mailchimp and/or any other Database and Lead Management Software (integrating opt-in forms and contact forms on WordPress sites)

Additional requirements

Collective members need to have ongoing access to high-speed Internet.

Communication is the most important component of virtual work environments, so email should be checked consistently and phone/video calls need to be responded to within 2 hours during designated work hours.

All Collective members must have their own computers and software needed to complete tasks assigned. They also must have access to video conferencing services like Google Hangout, Skype, etc.

All Collective members are required to track their time to the minute using Freshbooks (our billing software). Invoices are due the last week of every month and payments are issued no later than the 15th of the following month.

The Collective’s primary goal is to support and nurture highly skilled freelance contractors in order to assemble teams that will provide high-level services to our clients. Our clients will begin with an extensive discovery and planning phase to identify the steps needed to meet their end goals. From this phase, The Collective will match them with contractors ideally suited to their work styles, preferences and expertise of our members. Our recruiting efforts will be tailored to fulfill each client’s needs. The Collective will work with clients on a per project basis as needed, or on retainer for the management of online business services.

In addition to working with The Collective teams, the contractor will have the opportunity to further their career by training, adding specific certifications for pay-scale advancement, and alignment with other networks that are program/skill specific.
