Linux/UNIX System Administrator

Position Overview
The Linux/UNIX System Administrator is responsible for the operation, maintenance and 24x7x365 support of the high-availability Linux/UNIX server/database/SAN platforms located in remote Data Centers across multiple time zones.
Supports daily operations including monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, capacity management, provisioning, hardware and software configuration, patching, upgrades and performance monitoring/tuning
Administers multiple systems including regular after-hour & weekend supports and 24x7x365 in a 99.999% uptime environment
Composes clear and concise system documentation and reports
Up to 20 percent travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Minimum eight years of system administration experiences in Linux/UNIX, Solaris and SAN
Additional two years of technical experiences or one of the following certifications: Linux LPIC, Red Hat RHCSA, Red Hat RHSE, SUN SCSA
Required Experiences:
Expert knowledge with Linux (Redhat) administration, in-depth knowledge of RedHat based distros
Familiarity with a multitude of OSS tools and utilities for managing, monitoring and troubleshooting Linux infrastructure and networks
Linux/UNIX Shell Scripting
Expert knowledge of system administration of HP and Cisco blade based Servers
Strong knowledge of system administration of SUN/Solaris based Servers
Experience with supporting Oracle database including Oracle RAC implementation on SAN platforms
Strong knowledge of SAN architectures and FC/iSCSI protocols
Experience administering Servers, backup operations, and systems monitoring in multiple and complex network server environments
Experience with Datacenter Migrations, Server upgrades, O/S and firmware patching
Expert troubleshooting and diagnostic skills and providing support to Operations personnel
Experience supporting mission critical systems 24x7x365 including regular on-call for after-hour and weekend support
Experience with meeting high-availability (99.999% uptime) SLAs.
Experience with business continuity/disaster recovery failover/failback and runbook documentation
Ability to prioritize multiple assigned tasks and execute parallel tasks in a high-pressure environment
Experience with cyber security, server hardening and DMZ deployment
Strong writing and communication skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
Must be able to perform duties with minimum supervision, and participate in cross-functional projects as scheduled

Desired Skills/Certifications:
PERL Scripting and JAVA programming
One or more Linux/Database/SAN certifications
