The Role

The Core Base SW team covers areas such as operating systems, microcontrollers, hardware abstraction and sensor and actuator interfacing.

As the positions cover the interaction between software, hardware and mechanics a broad understanding of mechatronic engineering disciplines will be an advantage.

What you'll do

- Specify, design, implement & test software components and functionality
- Develop strategies to provide the maximum level of safe operation
- Work with the software suppliers to ensure that all software deliverables meet requirements and standards
- Contribute in the relevant areas of ECU and software safety analysis (eg. dFMEA, FTA)

What we are looking for:

Essential:

- Able to work effectively within a team with a strong positive attitude.
- 2.1 or better degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
- Understanding of software/systems design and tools and methods.
- Experience of writing efficient Real Time Embedded software (C language) in a 16/32 bit processor environment.
- Ability to communicate and negotiate with our customers and suppliers at a technical level.
- Creative approach to problem solving.

Highly Desirable

- Tricore 32 but Micro
- AUTOSAR
- UML with Rhapsody

Desirable:

- An understanding of analogue & digital electronic hardware.
- Requirements Engineering tools.
- Familiarity with SPICE or equivalent.
- Understanding of CAN-bus communications and diagnostics over CAN.
- Safety critical applications and/or automotive component development & industrialization.
- Six-Sigma Green Belt certified.
- FMEA/FTA.
