Description
Job Responsibilities- Work as part of the core development team of the energy storage system to create electrical drawings,
wiring diagrams and test procedures, etc. - Specify and select electrical components for complicated electro?mechanical panels and subsystems connecting
the storage systems to the electricity grid on projects ranging in size from 250kW to 25MW - Write formal test procedures to qualify, verify and validate off the shelf, semi?custom, and custom subsystems
- Work with software, controls, powertrain and systems testing groups to achieve objectives
- Design wire harnesses for high voltage cables, low voltage signals and communications
- Lead qualification and acceptance testing of power and control systems
- Analyze, size and select components, cables and protective elements to comply with applicable standards
- Create and maintain BOM for the electrical and control systems
- Manage technicians to build and test control panels, power electronics circuits and subsystems
- Travel ~25% of time to test sites, customer facilities, vendors etc.
Required Skills and Experience
- BS/EE and a minimum of 5 years of relevant quality engineering experience in high power, high voltage
industrial electronics or power systems - Extensive experience with AutoCAD or similar electrical drawing tool
- Experience with electrical test equipment including but not limited to HiPot equipment, Power meters,
Oscilloscopes, Multi?meters - Familiar with North American electrical codes and standards such as NEC, UL1741, CSA and IEEE
- Good verbal communication, presentation, and collaboration skills
- Personality traits needed to work quickly and meet deadlines while also maintaining high standards of quality,
safety, and cleanliness - Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full?time basis
