We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Software Developer/Engineer with excellent problem solving abilities who is excited by real challenges in leading edge server side development within the telecoms sector.About the position
Our client has established a Service Provider Operations (SPO) Lab in Ireland which will focus on the Future Operations Business Models, Next Generation OSS and associated Key Technologies in Bid Data Analytics.The research project for Next Generation OSS is mainly focused on unified model driven network autonomy management in virtual networks/DC, especially for NFV/SDN. Part of the remit is to build uniformed NE Models based on Yang or other model description formats such as XML, and implement our service model to resource model mapping. They currently use Semantic Web (RDF/OWL2) to describe the NE relationship/resource model and define our rules engine and reasoning policies. This research project also addresses issues associated with connection to the NGPM big data processing and analytics platform which collects, processes and analyses the NE signalling data, emits events based on the polices to trigger the rules engine, and which then reconfigures the network automatically or escalates to upper layers to trigger business services in real time.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Guiding software development of the project, including working with external development partners and internal NE side engineers;
- Rapid Developing and design on JAVA/SCALA based server side software to prove the concept of prototypes
- Supporting the implementation of semantic decision making algorithms, rules control algorithms and error checking procedures based on designs by model experts and domain experts (JAVA/SCALA programming).
- Ability to take general direction from lead architecture, but more importantly be able to work in an efficient and independent manner.
Desired Skills and Experience
- B.Sc./M.Sc.in computer science, engineering science, software engineering or similar relevant discipline; with a minimum 5-7 years of applicable software development experience;
- Demonstrated practical understanding of the specification, design, documentation, coding, testing and release of commercial software;
- In-depth server side development experience within JEE/OSGI framework ;
- Fluent in JAVA & SCALA/AKKA coding;
- Experienced in developing Web UI with SPA (HTML5+ ANGULARJS+NodeJS) with RESTful communication style ;
- Experience developing GUI with Eclipse environment using SWT
- A deep understanding of object oriented design in software systems;
- Strong knowledge of Linux and experience in coding real-time/multi-thread software on target environment;
- Experience in define Control/Configure DSL using EMF/ Xtext to describe the business service;
- Experienced in implantation of business modelling using RDF/OWL2, Semantic web storage, query and reasoning with pellet and StarDog;
- Sound knowledge of XML/XML Schema/Xpath/Xquery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Problem solving ability and lateral thinking capability;
- Proven ability to work under pressure and with short deadlines to accomplish objectives;
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel;
- Entrepreneurial thinking and work ethic.
