Progressive Global Energy has been tasked with finding a Piping/Equipment Engineer with experience in Oil refineries. Our client in Kansas is willing to bring on an experience contractor into their wastewater group for on going projects.

Title: Sr. Mechanical Engineer

Type: Contract to Hire (1 year contract )

Rates: Negotiable based on experience ( Our client needs a quality candidate and is willing to negotiate for a reasonable hourly rate )

Candidate will be responsible for process piping design, hydraulic modeling, equipment selection and specification, and shop drawing review for industrial projects associated with refineries, power plants, and manufacturing and food processing facilities. Additional duties included preparation of data sheets, RFQs, technical bid summaries, and purchase recommendations for pumps, pressure vessels, tanks, and third party designed packaged equipment. Reviews mechanical equipment vendor drawings, and data. Interfaces with suppliers, clients, other engineering disciplines, detailers/designers.

Prepares construction/installation scopes of work for mechanical equipment. Participates in the

development of P&ID's, construction specifications, project schedules, project budgets, project staffing planning, and construction planning. Executes complex assignments requiring the use of advanced techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment and/or technological methods. May develop and evaluate plans for major projects.

May assess feasibility or soundness of proposed applications when data is insufficient or testing is advisable. May coordinate departmental or divisional project studies, reports or project design assignments. Progressive design and project management responsibilities. Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members.

Regularly meets and corresponds with clients or outside personnel. Some marketing responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from accredited program. Minimum seven years related experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strong AutoCAD skills.

This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments. Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered. Experienced in the design, specification, and procurement of tanks, process pumps, and piping is preferred. Experience with refineries preferred.

Professional Engineer preferred.
