My client, a leading Medical Device company in MN is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Technician to contribute to the development of medical devices, including Directional Atherectomy devices and applicable technology. This opportunity is a 12+ month contract with a hourly rate range of $20-25.

As a Sr. Mechanical Technician, it is your responsibility to provide testing and general technical support to the development of new products and existing product lines.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree with 1- 2 years of experience
  • High School diploma with 10+ years medical device experience
  • Associates (2 year college) engineering/science degree with 5+ years of medical device experience
  • Computer skills including intermediate to advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel and Word


Responsibilities:
  • Conduct product performance bench testing
  • Develop new test methods and validate both new and existing methods
  • Build or assemble prototype materials, components, subassemblies and assemblies
  • Construct, operate, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust and maintain test equipment, systems or products
  • Generate protocols, perform testing, analyze data and write reports
  • Perform design/process characterization and analysis
  • Review or develop processing or manufacturing instructions
  • Maintain detailed documentation through all phases of development, testing and analysis
  • Ability to solve problems and work independently
  • Demonstrate ability to own key design or process attributes
  • Ensure laboratory and work areas conform to cGMP and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assist in site transfer and validation of existing analytical methods
  • Assist in improving lot release methods for transfer to manufacturing
  • Perform analytical tests to meet drug stability, lot release, method validation requirements
  • Perform job functions in accordance with applicable GMP and ISO guidelines


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Test method development/validation experience and cross-functional team experience preferred
  • Experience building and testing catheter based devices preferred
  • Experience working with chemicals & pharmaceuticals preferred
  • Experience programming and operating automated equipment preferred
  • Working knowledge of Mini-Tab preferred
  • Working knowledge of GMP and ISO regulations preferred
