* Will determine and ensure the use of specific design approaches and parameters and will conduct feasibility studies on new designs.* Will analyze equipment to establish operating data, ensure experimental tests are conducted and evaluate the results.* Will select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, reliability and regulatory requirements.* Will aid in the development process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, have manufacturability and are reliable.* Will assist in evaluating vendor capability to support development.* Will submit periodic reports on assigned topics to supervisor.* Will interact telephonically and in person with customer to resolve product issues.* May be assigned to the engineering efforts of a specific product or product line.* May coordinate the activities of 1 or more employees.* May provide feedback on the performance of 1 or more employees based on pre-established performance parameters.* Responsible for developing test scripts, test procedures for product level or component and product level testing* Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry etc. Generally involves sitting most of the time.* Must have the ability to work with and/or assemble small objects and component parts.* Must be able to use common office equipment (e.g. calculator, PC, telephone, etc.) and common measuring equipment (e.g.* micrometers, calipers, voltmeters, etc.).* Must have good visual acuity and demonstrate fine motor skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Must be able to observe and correct minute inconsistencies (e.g. in the printed word, product appearance, etc.).* Must be able to generate, follow and explain detailed instructions and design parameters.* Must be able to complete detailed documentation accurately.* Must be able to analyze and resolve complex product design issues of a broad scope using independent judgment.* Excellent analytical skills.* Effective interpersonal communication skills.* Demonstrated ability to operate small hand tools (e.g. pliers, screwdrivers, hammer, wrenches, etc.), power tools and test/inspection equipment.* Demonstrated mechanical/electrical design problem-solving skills.* Effective related software/hardware skills.* ORCAD or PADS experience preferred.* 2-4 years related design engineering, or related experience.* Working knowledge of ProE or CAD design software.B.S. in electrical engineering or related engineering discipline
