The Storage System Engineer (SE) acts as account SME for complex Storage and Backup environments. This role includes a wide-variety of activities, starting from initial setup and installation to Level 4 support. Next to this, the account SME acts as a focal architect towards the customer.
Required skills:
1. Technical skills
Expert in Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM). Vast experience in configuring and maintaining TSM Servers in an Enterprise environment
Advanced skills in IBM's Enterprise Storage Subsystems
Experience with setting up and configuring DS8000, DS6000, DS and SAN Volume Controller (SVC)
Good knowledge in LUN assignments, LUN mapping and masking
SAN expert
(Brocade 48000, DCX) experience with multi site resilient SAN fabrics in an Enterprise environment, preferably with Brocade products o good knowledge about SAN design principles
Experience in program languages: Kornshell, Perl, Bash,
Knowledge about AIX (network, LVM skills)
Knowledge about networking (TCP/IP, LAN, spanning-tree principles, basic routing skills)
Knowledge about n-Series/NAS
