Position Description:

The position the candidate is applying for is to support new software dependent feature integration into JLR vehicle-lines. The features will support a range of new and exciting features that JLR will be integrating into its vehicle lines over the coming years. Primary responsibility is to lead the feature design work required in order to ensure it will seamlessly integrate into the vehicle electrical architecture and function according to the customer requirements whilst maintaining the highest quality and safety standards. Authoring System/Component requirements (based on Customer Description of feature) and reviewing/agreeing with stakeholders.

Feature concept design and integration into vehicle electrical architecture in accordance with JLR processes and standards (CAN, power supply, electrical circuit, software etc.). Quality analysis and testing (Quality History, DFMEAs, Failure Mode Avoidance). Development of test plans according to requirements. Conduct and support vehicle/system/component testing and generating test reports.
Issue identification, investigation and escalation.

Skills Required:

The successful applicant will need the following skills...
system engineering skills of electrical architectures.
Familiar with tools such as MatLab/Simulink, CANalyser and other test tools.
Report writing.
Candidates will need to demonstrate excellent open communication and organisational skills.
Self-motivated with good interpersonal and team working skills.
Full and clean driving licence.

Experience Required:

Applicants will have significant experience in an engineering environment following company delivery processes.
Experience in developing software dependent features, delivered through interconnected ECU hardware architectures.
systems engineering experience and problem solving.
Experience with vehicle test tools eg CANalyser, dSpace, Simulink

Experience Preferred:

Experience in Automotive electrical, electronic and software engineering role.

Education Required:
Engineering Degree or above.

Additional Information:
Occasional travel to surrounding sites
