Job Description:
This is an experienced Oracle DBA role. The candidate will be involved in the design, build, tuning and support of database services for Fixed Income business unit. Senior Oracle DBA is responsible for the management and functional governance of the databases in the FID database estate.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical Database support for Oracle database systems and user problems including global data Replications
- Respond to production escalations from the level 1 team and take appropriate action to resolve issues
- Ensure production incidents reporting is done correctly
- Perform database upgrades
- Perform database migrations from one infrastructure host to another
- Installation and setup of oracle RAC/Non-RAC databases
- Participate in weekend maintenance activities
- Participate in major infrastructure events like powerdown, disaster recovery tests etc.
Candidate Technical Background:
- 8 years minimum experience as an Oracle DBA
- Ability to solve Oracle database issues and diagnose root cause of problems without supervision
- Solid understanding of Oracle RAC up to 11g.
- Good understanding of Unix and SAN technologies
- Knowledge of ASM
- Shell Scripting
- Replication including Streams and GoldenGate
