Deeplocal is looking for a new team member. Our innovation studio has created numerous campaigns that have shaped the advertising industry, including the Prius Mind-controlled Bike, the Nike Chalkbot robot, and Google Fiber’s “Nick’s First Pitch.” We’re a tight-knit group that strives to produce outstanding work and benefits from a culture of trust, collaboration, and the desire to create work that has never been seen before.
We are immediately hiring a Creative Technologist who can think critically, code quickly, and make products and experiences that work. This person should be comfortable learning new skills, and accept challenges with enthusiasm. As a Creative Technologist, you’ll think of ideas, and have the ability to make your ideas into something real. You’ll participate in client meetings and new business pitches, and own technical decisions for the projects you’re involved in. You should love being part of the creative process, and have a passion for emerging technologies and experimentation.
In this role, you’ll be expected to lead projects and work independently. Qualified applicants will have a proven ability to plan, prioritize and manage workload with minimal oversight. The Creative Technologist will work closely with clients on the west coast. They’ll be expected to spend approximately 50% of their time in northern CA, but also be available to travel to Pittsburgh on a regular basis, where Deeplocal is headquartered. We will consider candidates who are based in northern CA or in Pittsburgh, PA, or have the flexibility to relocate temporarily.
Experience
We're looking for individuals with 3-7 years of experience at a start-up, agency or similarly-paced company. We’re looking for people who have prior experience owning a project, and working directly with a client. All applicants must provide a link to a portfolio of independent and group work.
Technical Knowledge
We expect you to be proficient or able to learn these quickly: Rails, iOS (Objective-C), Android, node.js, modern web front-end development.
Our ideal candidate will also posses the following qualities:

Language agnostic: we want to know that you can learn any language possible; if the library doesn’t exist, you’ll write it. Hacker at heart. Ultimate goal: make things that work.
Problem solver: we typically work without specifications, which means it’s up to our engineers to make projects great with the resources at hand.
Sees the bigger picture: understands the high-level creative and aesthetic goals of a project, and engineer towards those goals.
Makes co-workers lives easier: we’re a small team and we depend on each other; we’re looking for someone who wants to over-deliver and cares about their contribution to the project’s success.
