An excellent opportunity has presented itself for a Software Engineer in Test to work on a permanent basis for one of our prestigious clients in Bristol.As a Software Engineer in Test you will become an integral member of a team that supports the development process from early design and implementation through to product release and support.
You will be responsible for improving our clients automated test system, increasing test coverage on existing tools and being involved from the start in developing test strategies and ensuring quality during the development of new products.
Essential
- A solid understanding of software testing techniques and methodology.
- Knowledge of, and experience in, all of the following:
- Version control systems.
- Microsoft Windows as a software development environment.
- C/C++ development and debugging.
- Object-oriented programming and design.
Desirable
- An understanding of IDEs and Debuggers.
- At least 2 years practical experience in software development and/or testing.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Knowledge of C#.
- Experience with concurrency and parallelism.
- Experience in the game industry would be a definite plus.
- Experience with:
- Dynamic "scripting" languages such as Python, Lisp, or Ruby.
- Writing Unit Tests.
- Continuous Integration systems.
Although the successful candidate will be working within a test team candidates must have a solid Computer Science/C++ background.
Our client's testers work very closely with developers and are an integral part of the process of producing robust, maintainable code.
