The Role:Reservoir characterisation - via the use of wire line logs, core, regional data & analogues Basin evaluation & play fairway mapping.
Basin evaluation & play fairway mapping
Evaluation of new business opportunities
Geological input into new business opportunity evaluations
Construction and update of 3D static reservoir models
Calculate volumetrics (STOIIP, GIIP) and reserves for fields and prospects
Work in Multi-Disciplinary Teams in partnership with Geophysicists, Reservoir Engineers, Drilling
Preparation of appraisal and development programmes
Prepare and present material as required internally and to third parties
Assessing subsurface risk for opportunities It is likely that the Geologist will take a lead role in many of these activities/projects and/or supervise and co-ordinate the activities of other team members
Follow the safety & environmental policies, guidelines and procedures
Requirements:
Previous experience in a similar role within a challenging and operating environment
Some geophysical knowledge / interpretation skills
Regular user of static modelling packages (preferably Petrel)
Wire line log / formation evaluation interpretation skills
Previous experience of exploration within the UK offshore an advantage
MSc Geophysics
Strong communication / presentation/ writing skills
Good commercial awareness/understanding project financing/cost control principles
