Description
My client, a major Telecoms company, is looking to hire a Netbackup Technical Consultant for a 6 month daily rate contract role. Consulting assignment is delivered onsite in Ireland.
The person will be responsible for the HLD, LLD and technical implementation phases of the project which will include the following:
Infrastructure:
There are some x86 Solaris nodes in the cluster but are mostly RedHat Linux (RHEL6) nodes. The hardware will be HP gen8 blades.
Candidate must have good current knowledge of NBU (Netbackup) projects, and have a Unix/Linux background so that he/she can navigate the environments.
The Netbackup dependent solution will be archiving volume level snapshots:
- There is three snapshot contexts:
- SAN-level
- LVM
- VxVM but for backup & restore only LVM and VxVM snapshots are vital
- Filesystems on those volumes will be standard: Ext3/4 on LVM and VxFS on VxVM.
- SAN is priovided by EMC
- Deduplication and replication of backup data for DR will be included
- Use of Backup Appliances will also be considered within the design
