Provide enterprise application integration and architecture skills. Complete hands-on technical work as well as lead and complete the development and delivery of typical information technology and enterprise architecture deliverables (Business process diagrams, roadmaps, solution architectures, reports, etc.).

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Actively designing and developing application integration architectures and routines to integrate Legacy and new systems.
  • Assist and support the Head of Enterprise Architecture in aligning IT strategy and planning with scientific and business goals.
  • Develop and maintain Enterprise Architecture assets, principles, individual blueprints, architecture artifacts (business processes models for business architecture, system design models for application architecture, data models for information architecture and technology models, patterns for technology architecture), standards and guidelines (current and target) as a part of Enterprise Architecture (EA) Program initiative deliverables.
  • Assist with the review, assessment, and rationalization of the computing portfolio.
  • Produce cohesive roadmaps that explain the transition and migration steps required to reach desired target states (roadmap alignment).
  • Responsible for maintaining and monitoring adherence to EA standards and guidelines through appropriate EA governance over the architectural design stages of IT projects.
  • Also provide technical guidance and support during all stages of IT projects to fit them to the architecture, as well as determining when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate project needs.
  • Analyze and evaluate emerging technology, industry trends, and gather market place/industry intelligence from external sources as required as input to IT Strategy and as enablers for innovation.
  • Provide leadership and oversight on strategic enterprise solutions architectures.
SKILLS:

Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor Degree in IT or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Subject matter expertise in enterprise application integration tools and techniques
  • At least 5 years of enterprise applications integration and 2 years of IT enterprise architecture experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience creating, documenting and implementing a common architecture vision, architectural artifacts and IT strategies.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience aligning organization strategies and plans with technical solutions.
  • Ability to create data models and diagrams using tools such as MS Visio, Sparx Enterprise Architect, and/or other industry standard tools.
  • 2+ years of experience in business process modelling, business process design and process improvement solutions.
  • Hands-on knowledge and experience with implementation and integration of Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions. ServiceNow and Workday in particular.
  • 3 to 5 years of strong experience with software development languages or tool sets such as Java, J2EE, C++, MS SharePoint and Microsoft .NET technologies.
  • Experience designing and deploying multi-tier solutions across multiple physical locations.
  • Exposure to Rapid application development (RAD), Agile Methods, as well as traditional waterfall approaches.
  • 2+ Years of experience with configuration management and development and operation of a configuration management database (CMDB).
  • Experience working within an ITIL framework and processes with successful outcomes within a large scale diverse global service management environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding about all major information technology components (network, hardware, software, infrastructure, etc.) required to operate enterprise systems and services
  • 2+ years of experience in a large public sector laboratory environment highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills including written, verbal and visualizations; ability to communicate and facilitate at all levels of the organization.
