Responsibilities:The Completi
on Engineer will be responsible for the following areas relating to completion planning and operations:
- Completion related budget and AFE generation.
- Completion design including equipment specification and selection (from the reservoir through to the wing valves on the tree).
- Ensuring completion design meets well objectives and is performed in accordance with established standards
- Operations planning and work program/procedure generation including risk assessment and peer review, where required.
- Provision of operations support during completion operations.
- Performance tracking (actual Vs planned) and making recommendations for improvement.
- Post operation close out including, reviewing performance against plan, capturing lessons learned and developing solutions to problems to improve performance.
- Identification and implementation of technology to reduce cost and/or add value.
- Completion related contract tender preparation, bid evaluation and contract management.
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required in Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering
- At least 5 years well engineering experience preferably with an operator of which 3 years will have been directly related to completion design, planning and execution.
- A proven track record in implementing innovative and practical completion solutions which have maximized productivity and added value whilst minimizing cost.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others to achieve goals
- Innovative with strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Proficiency in specific completions engineering skill-sets including:
- Well performance prediction / nodal analysis
- Fracture stimulation design and modeling
- Tubing and casing movement / stress modeling
- Horizontal multi-stage completion design
- Coiled tubing, electric line, slickline and snubbing
- Sand control & well testing
- Previous experience with performance tracking and benchmarking
- Knowledge of economic evaluation, project management and risk analysis
- Experience in well site drilling, completion and/or remedial operations
- Experienced with design and planning early stages of well completions, including, tubular design, materials selection, and integration of equipment
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and interpersonal skills (a team player)
- Previous experience in Reservoir, Production, Drilling Engineering and Operations, desired.
- Competent in MS Office applications
