Financial Accounting and Reporting Specialist

Our client in Zurich is seeking a senior accountant / reporting specialist tp join the Group Accounting and Parent Bank Controlling (GAPBC) Group on a global project.

· GAPBC is responsible for the preparation, production and analysis of Financial Statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS and other relevant requirements and aiming to achieve best in class financial reporting.

· It is also responsible for the preparation of Group and Parent Bank regulatory filings, including those related to capital adequacy and liquidity and funding, to our primary regulators FINMA and SNB and the establishment of internal accounting control documentation for senior management.

· As part of its external financial and regulatory scope of responsibilities, the team coordinates the production of quarterly and annual reports, acting as the main information channel between the firm and its many and varied stakeholders as well as performs analytical reviews at Group and Parent Bank level to ensure that disclosed financial information is materially correct.

· It is also responsible for the implementation of significant accounting changes, capital adequacy and Swiss GAAP policy setting and Parent Bank / Swiss regional controlling including financial and management reporting.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

· Assess and deliver against detailed regulatory requirements

· Consult with internal subject matter experts and regulator on requirements, data sourcing, accounting interpretations, etc.

· Evaluate data sourcing and quality

· Build queries and/or control reports within the Group Consolidation and Reporting System (GCRS)

· Leverage data from related regulator deliverables where relevant

· Establish clear and detailed documentation and governance

· Track and communicate progress in routine updates to senior management

· Prepare final regulatory submission and reconcile to internal/external reporting sources

· Implement a data substantiation and sign-off process.

· Initiate and drive change where required to ensure regulatory requirements are met.

Requirements:

· Min. 3-5 years of experience in a in corporate environment

· Very good written and spoken English. German knowledge is an advantage but not a requirement.

· Very good knowledge of MS Excel and, ideally, SAP BW

· Very good communication skills and ability to work in teams
