Materials Manager - Cost Reduction/Automotive

We are currently recruiting for a Materials Manager/Team Leader to assist in the Cost Reductions of a multinational organisation. The successful candidate will need/focus drive to reduce the overall material cost of production. Initially this is a 12 month project but is very likely to extend based in Staffordshire.

  • To coordinate and lead a cross functional team to deliver the material cost down target for 2014 and 2015.
  • Key areas of focus are cost down through: -
    • Simplification
    • Design change
    • Cost
    • Negotiation
    • Establish visible Lean Management
    • Lead weekly sessions to update on progress
    • Track, monitor and ensure timelines for cost down opportunities are maintained
    • Ensure the suppliers on boarded through LCC sources are capable and on schedule (APQP/PPAP/TAN)
    • Attend governance sessions, and report progress to the Business Leadership
    • Develop metrics and measures to track progress
    • Establish system AVIDs to look for cost down opportunities
    • Develop a pipeline of cost down opportunities for
    • Lead/establish validation planning and track to completion
