A new requirement has arisen for a Change Accountant to join an Edinburgh based Financial Services company on an initial 18 month contract basis. You will be expected to lead specific change activities that will impact finance across the organisation. This will include legislative and business-led change.

The role holder will be a qualified accountant and have previous post qualification experience.

Core responsibilities:

  • Agree change priorities with senior Management and ensure that the plans are consistent with other change initiatives across Finance division
  • Scope and analyse proposed business change, process, and technology initiatives to deliver recommended solutions to senior management in Finance division
  • Perform the analysis of the requirements of legislative changes impacting Finance division with the implications for process and technology scoped to deliver recommendations to senior management in Finance
  • Lead the delivery of the change activities within budget
  • Ensure the changes implemented include adequate financial controls to maintain the integrity of the financial information
  • Knowledge of developments in accounting and regulatory rules and industry practice applied to finance and business processes to incorporate current legislation and reflect developments in industry standards where relevant
  • Provide support to business unit finance teams to implement the change required
  • Ensure that senior management in Finance division affected by the change are kept informed and maintain effective relationship management with all key stakeholders

Core requirements:

Essential:

  • Qualified Accountant with previous post qualification experience
  • Experience working in financial services
  • IFRS accounting and or Regulatory reporting experience
  • Proven ability of influencing and challenging at senior management level

Desirable:

  • Insurance accounting experience
  • Plc accounting experience
  • Proven track record and in-depth experience of delivery of change in Finance
