Lead power electronics design engineer required on a 6 month contract based in the east midlands. You will be responsible for the design of power electronic converters and motor drive systems. This innovative company is one of the world's largest developers of new technology and is market leading in transforming the world's infrastructure.
Type: 6 month contract
Rate: £35-£40 Per hour
Location: Leicester

Essential skills:
Electrical and Electronic design experience (IGBT, THYRISTOR, FET)
Whole life cycle development experience
Product testing knowledge (IEC, UL)
Experience of control systems
Mechanical cubicle layout understanding
Desired skills
EMC experience
PCB design experience
Analogue and digital design experience
Power conversion experience
Job description
As the lead power electronics engineer you will provide leadership and take ownership of the design for new products. You will design both electrical and electronic products from component to system level. Working with a team of engineers you will be delivering optimised solutions to meet requirements. Your role will include leadership, technical decision making whilst still maintaining a hands on approach with the design and research. You will lead a team of mechanical, electronic and electrical engineers through the complete design process and drive and motivate the team to deliver results on agreed deadlines.
Other comments:
You will be required to work both on site and visit other locations occasionally. You will need to adhere to strict timescales so out of hours work may be required.
