Role: Network Engineer

Location: South Dublin

Rate: €350-€400

Type: 6 Month Contract

This is an exciting opportunity to join a global telecommunications organization as a Network Engineer. This role is to provide 2nd/3rd line network support and project delivery as part of a team that is dedicated to delivering excellent service to one of their largest customers.

As a Network Engineer your main responsibilities will involve:

* Project implementation and delivery
* 2nd/3rd line support for all network faults.
* Evaluate and implement adds/moves/changes.
* Peer review and input to network designs.
* Create and improve existing network documentation.
* Provide expert network knowledge to ensure all incidents are handled efficiently and service is restored in SLA.
* Pro-actively manage the network, identifying improvements and anomalies in the network to prevent network incidents from occurring.
* Provide excellent customer service by ensuring all customer requests, internal and external, are progressed and dealt with accurately and in line with agreed business processes and procedures.
* Co-ordinate incident resolution activities across a number of internal groups and 3rd party suppliers ensuring customer incidents and changes are completed within SLA.
* Work with the Programme and Project Managers to ensure timely and expert delivery of all project work.

Skills and Qualifications

* Five years' experience in a similar role.
* Excellent knowledge of Cisco IOS.
* Excellent routing and switching knowledge and experience on devices such as 6509, 2850, 2600, 4948.
* Previous data network background with experience of large-scale IP networks and related WAN/LAN technologies including, but not limited to TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF.
* CCNA Qualified.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interrelate effectively with customers and suppliers
* Understanding of security implications and application.
* Excellent customer facing skills.
* Able to demonstrate understanding of enterprise network tools.
* Full driving licence.
