Our client in Kalamazoo MI is looking for a Graphic Designer for an exciting opportunity. As Graphic Designer you will play an important role in the Creative Design department by ensuring a smooth work flow as projects go from the internal customers to the creative design team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Releases files to vendor, archives assets as released to print, and obtains copies of final assets post-production
- Archives post-production files according to production guidelines
- Maintains the department's project tracking database
- Contributes to continuous improvement within creative group and recommends improvements to workflow process as necessary
- Receives work orders from the creative department manager
- Ensures completion of project brief templates prior to design team quality evaluation.
- Maintains the overall production schedule
- Manages implementation and sign-offs for all new and revised design and production projects.
- Tracks and reports the intake of requests
- Partners with creative team to resolve scheduling and/or workload challenges as they arise
- Quickly understands workflow challenges and assembles the right team to effectively solve the problem
- Tracks and reports job status
- Tracks and reports job approvals
- Completes PMDP process for self
- Collaborates with marketing services peers to share best practices
- Uses appropriate decision-making and approval processes in a timely manner
- Makes recommendations to streamline and simplify creative processes
- Participates in and helps organize recruiting events
Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or related discipline (related experience may be substituted for degree requirement)
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in creation and production of packaging graphics a plus
- Resourceful, analytical, organized, diplomatic, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Accustomed to working under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Must have ability to work with cross-functional teams and personalities
- Comfortable working with both PC and Mac environments
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Budget conscious
- Results-oriented and able to solve problems
