Description
The Informatics Pharmacist will report directly to the Clinical Pharmacy Manager and duties will be the following:- Serve as the clinical resource for medication related issues within the computerized Health Information System and as the expert in patient safety and the use of technology to optimize care delivery processes and effectively communicate patient care activity
- Provide pharmacy review and approval for all order sets that contain medication orders
- Develop and maintains clinical rules (i.e. alerts that only fire if certain conditions are met) and clinical reports
- Develop, maintain, and monitor effectiveness of all forms of drug alerts (order alerts, drug interaction/duplicate/allergy alerts)
- Maintain proficiency in all duties performed by the Pharmacy System Analyst in order to serve as backfill for that position
- Exhibit advanced knowledge of clinical pharmacy and professional development via publication in the pharmacy or medical literature, providing lectures to other medical professionals, or precepting elective rotations to students and residents in clinical informatics
- Provide reports to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee on descriptions and effectiveness of medication related CDS efforts
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy and BCPS or completion of a Clinical Informatics Specialty Pharmacy Residency (PGY2)
- Doctorate in Pharmacy (Pharm D)
- 3+ years of practice experience and has demonstrated mastery of the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and abilities expected of one who has completed a Clinical Informatics Specialty Pharmacy Residency
- Current CA Registered Pharmacist License (RPh)
