A healthcare provider in the San Francisco Bay area is now seeking for a statistician.
JOB OVERVIEW
  • The Statistician provides programming support and data analysis for a variety of data sets and the monitoring and evaluation of activities using large and complex administrative and survey datasets.
  • Under the supervision of the PI and in collaboration with other team members, the position's primary duties include: analyzing cross-sectional and longitudinal data and applying statistical techniques, such as multi-level modeling.
  • Other duties include documentation of data cleaning, presentation of data to PI (principle investigator) and other grant researchers and interpretation of results in written summaries and oral presentations and assisting other statisticians or investigators with documentation and organization of SAS programs and reports.
  • The Statistician must have the analytical and writing skills to run and analyze data, merge datasets, and write reports and translational documents.
  • The ability to write effectively for different audiences is required.
  • The individual must possess a demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects with competing deadlines and have the flexibility to quickly shift focus when needed.
  • This position requires initiative and ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team, as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate will also perform other related duties.


REQUIRED QIALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Master's degree or two years relevant work experience or BA/BS with a major in Statistics or a related field and two years of professional statistical experience
  • Knowledge of the statistical programs such as SPSS, SAS, R and SUDAAN
  • Experience with database programs such as SQL, MS Access, and MS Excel is required to ensure the accuracy of study data, produce several databases for clinical management, produce relevant datasets for analysis, conduct data analysis, and prepare data for publication/presentation
  • Knowledge of statistical principles is needed to perform the appropriate statistical analysis
  • Experience designing statistical models, analyzing complex data sets independently
  • Experience drafting manuscripts and conducting literature reviews
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
