Senior API Technical Writer/Author
I am looking for a Senior API Technical Writer to produce high quality documentation, instructional content, API references, sample code and much more for our upcoming API release. I require somebody who is experienced at taking complex information and can explain it clearly, concisely and accurately.
Responsibilities
- Work with internal teams to obtain an in depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements
- Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single sourcing opportunities
- Produce high quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
- Write easy to understand user interface text, online help and developer guides
- Create tutorials to help end users use a variety of applications
- Participate in all aspects of documentation development, from product planning through product
release.
- Supplement developer documentation with relevant sample code produced by the development
team.
Requirements
- Significant relevant experience in producing technical documentation, preferably APIs, but
technical product documentation and blogging would be adequate.
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
- Experience with writing and using APIs in a variety of modern languages (Python, Ruby, Java)
- Excellent written skills in English
- Solid understanding of SDLC and software development
- Passion for technology and APIs (desirable)
- Degree level education desirable, but equivalent professional experience acceptable.
