Senior Human Factors Engineer required to be a key player within the Human Factors team who are collectively responsible for ensuring the best design solution with respect to all aspects for Human Factors. The role will require close co-operation with systems engineering and integration subject matter experts along with platform & domain expertise residing in wider businesses.

Typical responsibilities will include the below:
Provision of technical input to the Human Factors Integration and Human Factors Engineering activities across the programme.
Delivery of an optimal HF solution through:
Developing and maintaining HF integration plans.
Developing and maintaining HF schedule planning, monitoring and reporting.
Managing the HF risk and opportunities.
Manages development, apportionment and dissemination of Human Factors requirements.
Reviews HF elements of all system and subsystem documentation.
Plans and runs HF design review.
Plans and executes HF assessments (ergonomic analysis, GUI and Usability assessments).

The successful candidate will have the below skills:
Proven HF experience on engineering development programmes in the defence industry.
Understanding of the Systems Engineering life cycle and the integration of HF activities within that life cycle.
Proven experience in working with sub-contractors through the integration, test and acceptance phases.
Proven requirements development expertise and experience using DOORS.
Familiarity and experience with Human Factors techniques and tools (Task Analysis, Workload tools, Human Error).
Familiar with Defence Standards, Military Standards and EC Directives.
Willing to travel within the UK and overseas.
Candidates must be willing to undergo a security vetting procedure.
