Software Tester - Daily Rate Contract - Dublin South
Responsibilities
- Review of specifications for the purpose of creating test conditions
- Ensuring that test conditions are maintained - kept up to date and accurate
- Input into estimation and test schedules
- Creation of test conditions and expected results based on specifications for the software
- Execution of test conditions in accordance with the agreed test schedule and processes
- Execution of business test cycles and regression testing
- Verification of test conditions against expected results
- Retesting defect fixes
- Updating test conditions to reflect test results
- Logging of errors where appropriate along with supporting information and data
- Tracking of errors
- Provision of status (progress) against the agreed schedule
Skills Required
- Good experience RDBMS - preferably Oracle
- Ability to read and write SQL
- Linux/Unix skills
- Strong understanding of background processing and interfaces
- Experience of deploying software to WebSphere
- Prior experience of defect tracking systems - eg Mantis, Bugzilla
- Ability to learn new skills with appropriate training and documentation
- Good experience of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
