Description
A Stress Engineer is required to support the design and qualification of an electromagnetic motor and controller, as well as an OBIGG system. Structural and thermal analysis will be carried out using ANSYS and some pressure drop analysis will also be required. Close collaboration with the design team will be required due to the likelihood of several iterations to get the cooling flow and pressure drop across the unit to within acceptable limits.
The candidate is required to have a good knowledge of classical stress engineering methods but also be confident to work in the FEA tool ANSYS. The candidate must also be able to demonstrate good written English and the ability to create concise summary reports to support equipment certification.
Experience of using ProE and Enovia would be preferred but not essential.
The successful candidate will be required to work on these projects with minimal supervision/assistance.
The work location will be either Bristol or near Southampton.
