Description

This role will involve work on the development and testing of Embedded hardware and software for an inertial sensing module. The successful contractor applicant will be part of a development team involved in specifying, designing, testing and qualifying the module.

Skills and Knowledge Requirements
* Design of Embedded processor PCBs and sensing systems.
* Design for manufacture and design for test
* Design and development of Embedded software in C, including GUI design
* Designing software specific to the design of Real Time Embedded systems.
* Applying appropriate methodologies in the production of robust, maintainable and reusable software designs which factor-in all the considerations listed above.
* Using recognised software testing methodologies.
* Applying configuration management controls.

Previous Experience
* 5 years of experience in the development of products in the commercial business domain.
* Experience of full development life cycle of an Embedded electronic product
* Serial Interfaces (SPI, RS).
* Requirements management.
* Embedded software design tools.
* Qualification of products against environmental & performance standards (vibration, EMC, etc).

Previous Experience in any of the following will be an advantage,
* Serial Interfaces (CAN etc).
* Mathematical modelling tools (eg Matlab).
* Safety engineering.
* Project management/project lead experience

Although not working on military or defence applications candidates will need to achieve baseline security clearance to work on site.
