Welder - Welding
Weld Inspector required a leading global oil and gas company based in Montrose. The welding requirement here is to carry out GTAW roots and either SMAW or SAW fills on a IG rotated, 9" OD x 1" wall pipe/forging. The material is 4130 and F22, both 80ksi yield and welding is to NACE standards. The welder would need to set up his own joint before welding and there would be a requirement to machine or grind some weld preps ..the final length tolerance on the joint is not too tight (±0.5" over 45ft with 4 butt welds) but care needs to be taken as the fit-up and alignment is measured and recorded."
Essential skills:
- Previous experience of High Quality Welding
- Ability to split own joints after assembly
- Previously GTAW Qualified
- Previous experience of SMAW or SAW fills on IG rotated wall pipe/forging
- Previous experience of Machining or Grinding some weld reps
