Description
We are looking for an individual who has background in and is able to develop expertise in a variety of areas, including:* The ability to drive motherboard development
* Work, Lead & Oversee board design, debug and qualification activities; coordinated between ODM and other teams.
* Interface with board and ASIC component suppliers,
* Select components and commodities based on analysis of specifications and reliability. Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex technical solutions within the established business guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives.
* The ability to manage ODM supplier activities including board design, board validation, factory pilot builds, and testing, including the ability to do this both while on-site and remotely located.
* Will act as a team or project leader in the EE/HW area providing direction to both ODM and team activities while facilitating information validation and team decision-making processes.
This person will need to work with a wide variety of component and system suppliers. We develop products with partners from around the world, so the ability to work well in a geographically dispersed team comprised of individuals from a variety of companies and cultures is critical to success in this role.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 4-6 years experience (2-4+ with MS degree) minimum experience in hardware development methodologies with specific knowledge of PCB layout, routing, schematic review and integrated circuits.
Knowledge and Skills

Requires working knowledge of in-circuit emulators, oscilloscopes, data line analyzers, and general debug/root cause analysis skills; in addition to knowledge of Windows / Linux operating systems. -
Requires working knowledge of high speed bus routing and PCB design, preferably with experience developing HDI boards. -
Candidates must have excellent organizational skills, professional oral and written communication skills, and a high level of interpersonal skills. -
Must be a self-motivated team player with the ability to work in a customer oriented, very fast-paced, and demanding environment with minimal supervision. - Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options to management.
