EMC Engineer/EMC Design Engineer required for a leading global defence company based at Boscombe Down.

The role is responsible for the safe and effective conduct of specific test and evaluation tasks relating to military aircraft and weapons within project teams. E3 encompasses all electromagnetic disciplines including Electromagnetic Compatibility, Electromagnetic Interference, the impact of High Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF), Lightning Direct and Indirect Effects and Electrostatic Discharge. Delivering Specialist Technical advice to meet business requirements. Appropriately utilising Technical processes, methods and tools within the Specialist area to deliver the business. Drafting technical inputs for customer reports as required.

Must have experience:

  • Experience of evaluating military aircraft avionic systems from an EMC/HIRF and Lightning perspective.
  • Identifying and gathering evidence that demonstrates compliance with specified EMC and Lightning design standards and specifications.
  • Interpretation of standard/specification requirements when assessed against Design Organization compliance regimes in support of Certification and Qualification criteria.

Ideally would have:

  • An understanding of Electrical Power Generation & Distribution Systems.
  • Experience of working in or with MoD and/or HM Forces.

Must have skills:

  • Chartered Engineer with appropriate Electrical/Electronic Engineering/Physics degree.
  • A sound understanding of aircraft systems, particularly when considering critical functionality, and the threats posed to them from Internal and External Electromagnetic Environments.
