Description

Assist in conducting biological assays in the laboratory used to identify novel chemistry for efficacy on crop pest targets. The technician will routinely select and prepare plants for experiments, apply insects to plants, and record experimental results.

SKILLS:

  • HS or AAS degree in a biological field with some laboratory experience is desired.
  • Must have the ability to work as a member of a multi disciplinary research team.
  • Candidate will work in laboratory and greenhouse environments, and be willing and able to handle insects and chemicals of unknown toxicity with proper PPE.
  • Daily work will include routine tasks including preparing plants, insects and chemical solutions, and evaluating the effectiveness of potential insecticides.
  • Computer skills required: MS Word and Excel.
  • Weekend work will be required occasionally.
  • A background in entomology or experience in crop protection, and agricultural insecticide applications is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working with an agricultural products company would be a plus.
