Microsoft System Center Service Implementation Project Manager - Minneapolis, MN

Job Summary

This 8 month contract opportunity is for a Microsoft System Center Service Implementation Project Manager role within a government sector. The project integrates Microsoft System Center Service Manager (SCSM) exploiting functionality given the current organizations environment (Active Directory, SCCM, SCOM, SharePoint, Orchestrator and Exchange). Additionally, BMC Remedy and other applications in the service management space migrations or integrations are required.

Description of Work to Be Performed and the Specific Skill Sets Needed:

The Project Manager must be dedicated, self-sufficient, and demonstrate a history of accountability and delivery of complex projects using Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF) methods to Envision, Plan, Build, Stabilize and Deploy. Seeking an experienced System Center Service Manager project manager to join a dynamic team looking to integrate Service Manager solutions; multiple departments' in county environment and deliver on strategic service management initiatives. The successful candidate has the ability to work with a cross-functional team of architects, developers, business and operations teams (Enterprise Service Desk) to support enterprise service management using existing tools such as BMC-Remedy and MS SCSM. This role is a direct contributor to the continued maturity of service management and be a part of the team involved in the development of service management planning, standards and process.

Impact/Outcome from a Business Perspective:

This government body is undertaking an effort that expands and integrates IT service management to eliminate Legacy systems, reduce overall support costs and produce a cost effective solution at the county level, to meet the needs of and for use by IT Operations and Business Lines Countywide. The solution has the potential to provide capabilities to incident management, request management, change management, problem management, deployment/release and asset management. In addition to technology solutions, the project is also expected to produce policies, processes and standards for service management exploiting the Microsoft System Center platform and BMC Remedy, and prepares for the elimination of Legacy technologies (Lotus Notes custom apps, RequestIT).
