A leading healthcare provider in Los Angeles is now recruiting for a Senior Director of Compliance.

This key role will be responsible to set strategy for, and provide leadership regarding, standards for and management of the design, development and implementation of effective compliance, audit, and HIPAA programs.

Responsibilities
  • Sets strategy on standards for and management of the design, development and implementation of effective compliance, audit, and HIPAA programs.
  • Provides leadership and oversight for all compliance audit, transactional compliance due diligence, and HIPAA-related activities.
  • Manages compliance projects, programs, and processes and reports progress to Compliance Department and senior leadership.
  • Identifies new risks and projects through various intakes, including regular meetings with stakeholder leadership, legal, and external sources.
  • Assesses and articulates the compliance, operational, financial, clinical, and systems impact of a compliance or HIPAA issue and recommended remediation plan.
  • Monitors industry compliance and HIPAA issues and trends in order to advise management on emerging or potential risks.
  • Knows, understands and ensures compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards. This includes the laws of any jurisdiction in which HealthCare Partners conducts business, including state locations.
  • Manages Compliance Department initiated investigations, including interview/fact finding and analysis, presentation of recommendations to executive leadership, and remediation/root cause process enhancements.
  • Manages special projects, including root/cause analyses, data analytics, process improvement, and control development.
  • Improves processes, implements controls, and develops and implements the HCP national Compliance program.


Qualifications and experience
  • Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college required.
  • Minimum 7-10 years' experience in healthcare Compliance with demonstrated expertise in managing an enterprise Compliance program, including HIPAA Compliance, or equivalent consulting experience required.
  • Minimum five years management experience required.
  • Prior experience with health plans or managed care organizations, or large, decentralized health care providers preferred.
  • Proven track record of collaborative problem-solving with senior management and business leaders to achieve Compliance and business goals required.
