My client based in Runcorn is looking for an Experienced Software Team Manager. This role is an excellent opportunity to further your career and combines line management, project leading and hands-on software development across a range of laboratory automation products.

Reporting directly to the Director of Product Development; the Software Team Manager will be responsible for technology development, intellectual property and product lifecycle management, support to sustaining engineering and manufacturing transfers, alongside other business functions including sales, marketing, service and production.

Competencies and Responsibilities
A track record of delivering software design and development of new products successfully launched in the market and management of current product evolutions in a global marketplace.
  • Thorough understanding of software product development via a disciplined stage-gate process. Technically proficient with expert knowledge of software development principles (such as AGILE) applied to electro-mechanical laboratory automation and workflow management applications (interfacing to Hospital Information Systems) or similar products.
  • Experienced in a range of software tools and applications for PC and real time embedded systems covering:


Essential:
  • C, C++
  • Linux and Windows platforms
  • MS Visual Studio
  • Agile methodologies (Scrum)
  • Networking, TCPIP, Sockets, User Interface, Windows Service, USB and ComPorts
  • Demonstrated experience menaging teams of Software Engineers


Desirable:
  • SQL
  • C#, JScript, VB, HTML, DHTML, ASP.NET
  • Web applications. Silverlight. IIS. MS Expression
  • Knowledge of assembly language
