Senior NSN RAN Service Engineer Role!
Our client is an innovative mobile network solutions company with a unique suite of software applications enabling efficient customer growth, intelligent network management and expert service delivery.
They are currently expanding their team with an additional role for an elite, experienced NSN RAN Optimisation and Performance Engineer to support growth for the implementation of their service work.
The position is located at one of their customer offices in Dublin, Ireland. Placement at other customer locations may also be needed.
Reporting directly to the Head of Services, the RAN Optimization and Performance Engineer will interact with RAN team within the company and within their customers.
Role Description:
The role requires the individual to work within the Service group which has the responsibility for the delivery of customer projects in the Service teams. Work will consist of completion of projects within the Implementation team in their customer offices.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior RAN Senior Service Engineer the role requires excellence in:
Team Leadership of on-site customer project providing network services
Ensuring the successful delivery of customer projects, including RAN Performance and Capacity Management
Working with customers to identify opportunities relevant to them, and business opportunities for the company
Customer presentations, including proposals and project reports
Performance monitoring of 3G NSN RAN using Netact
Troubleshooting customer complaints & performance degradation issues
Physical site optimisation using Atoll planning tool & Actix
Monitoring and analysing performance from Feature and Parameter trials
Analysing drive test logs & Producing Drive test reports using TEMS and Actix
Writing queries to run scripts for Drive test team
Main Point Of Contact for TEMS tool, interacting directly with TEMS support
Analysis of new LTE site drive test log files
Analysis of 2G inter-system handovers to national roaming network
Compile weekly optimisation report and present in meeting with customer
As a Senior RAN Senior Service Engineer the role requires the following responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive trials and analysis of RAN features and parameters, giving recommendations on future rollout to clients' networks
Identify, troubleshoot, diagnose and solve RAN performance issues
Dimension nodes for future demand and create estimates for budgeting
Qualifications:
Primary Degree in Engineering or Science discipline
Desired Experience:
Min 5 years' experience in NSN UMTS, GSM & LTE RF optimisation
Project Management of customer projects
Excellent in depth understanding of Mobile Networks solutions and Radio Resource Management
Radio Capacity planning, dimensioning, modelling, optimisation and design
Expert in Data manipulation
In depth understanding of 2G,3G and LTE air interface standards
Experience working in a multi-vendor, multi-technology environment
Good communication skills and ability to interface with Network operator on technical level
Ability to work well as part of an optimisation team
Takes initiative and is proactive
Ability to troubleshoot using stats in Netact, drive test logs in TEMS/Actix, call events in arieso
Ability to resolve performance issues through physical & parameter optimisation
Knowledge of IP, Transmission, and Core Engineering desirable
Knowledge required:
NSN 3G KPIs, Counters
NSN 3G Features and Parameters
NSN 3G RBS hardware
Understanding of LTE fundamentals
Tools experience required:

Knowledge of TTMS Trouble Ticketing system an advantage
