Job Title: Software Assurance Manager
Job Type: Contract
Contract Length: 6 Month Contract
Location: London
Contract Daily Rate: Up to £400 per day

Our client, one of the world's foremost defence companies, is looking for an experienced Software Assurance Manager to join their core team based in Central London for a long term contract.

The Software Assurance Manager will assist with the assurance of the client wide Software Assets to meet legal compliancy requirements and ensure best possible value is achieved from the existing and the future Software Assets. Promotion of Software Asset Management best practice.

Major Areas of Responsibility:
Assurance of all Software Assets. Working with existing Software Assurance Manager towards an effective, streamlined and proactive assurance function on behalf of the Client.
Software Compliancy Management - assist the client in ensuring that software is used in legally compliant manner - i.e. within the granted rights (licences) for products, versions, installation numbers, and environments. Ensure compliancy reporting is in place and discrepancies are promptly addressed, escalate as / when necessary. Assure software audits.
Software Control - ensure only authorised and supported software is used in the client estate. Work with IT Security to identify potentially harmful software and associated risks. Work with suppliers and software providers to identify existing and future support issues. Work with the wider user base and suppliers to find acceptable software products that meet the stated requirements. Assist the client in managing new software requests and reaching decisions on purchase.
Licence Management - ensure existing software assets are used to the maximum value with no unused licences left for extended periods of time. Work with existing suppliers to monitor product decommissions and available licences. Work with suppliers and software providers to ensure licences are either re-used or decommissioned.
Stakeholder Engagement - work with Commercial & Supplier Management and IT Strategy teams to establish forward requirements and options to fulfil them. Act as an interface between software providers and technical communities.
Strategic - understand the scope of the Licence Management process and highlight any shortfalls with existing Licence Assurance practices with a view to identifying potential future capabilities.
