My client is a global banking group and for their location in Edinburgh I am currently looking for a Senior Fund Administrator with extensive Settlements experience. This is an initial 6 month contract with scope to extend.

Responsibilities:

Processing security trade transactions in line with the underlying funds valuation points.

  • Updating trades either electronically or manually, check output to ensure that details are accurately reflected onto the portfolios.

  • Trade Volumes.

  • Key Performance Indicators for services.

Matching of Security Trades, based on details received from Managers and Brokers.

  • Monitor trade matching process, check output and record unmatched items and then follow up.

  • Trade Volumes.

  • Key Performance Indicators for services.

Issuing settlement instructions for trades and other transaction types to Custodians within agreed timescales.

  • Send instructions to Custodians via SWIFT/faxes and ensure all transaction cut-off periods are met.

  • Number of failed/late trades.

  • Key Performance Indicators for services.

Following up of queries with Client/Brokers, and daily checking of failed trades information received from Custodian, as well as investigating interest claims that have been received.

  • Regularly review Client/Broker's issues log, and query with the Custodian any failed trades until resolution.

  • Review of failed trades report.

  • Feedback from third parties.

  • Failed trades and interest claims log.

Maintain details of Broker/Counterparty Standing settlement Data, and data on Alert, or other standing data on Datamapper.

  • Maintain and update standing settlement data.

  • Number of issues identified by review process.

Participate in user acceptance of new/upgraded software as required.

  • Conduct tests utilising documented scripts and record accurate results.

  • User Acceptance projects.

Risk

  • To continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings and the impact of new technology.

  • In conjunction with Compliance department, to implement the Group Compliance Policy by containing compliance risk in conjunction with the relevant compliance department. The term 'compliance' embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.

  • To adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls.

Measured by:

  • Ensuring all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring.

  • Addressing any areas of concern in conjun ction with line management and/or the appropriate department.

  • Adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity.

  • Adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.
