Senior Finance Business Partner, Insurance

My Client, a large Insurance company, has a requirement for a Senior Finance Business Partner to sit within their Finance division. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant and having worked in a decision support role with a background and knowledge of Insurance. Non-banking candidates will also be welcome.

Main responsibilities:
*Lead the budgeting and planning cycles. Inform and shape the future strategic direction of the business.
*Assist senior management to make informed decisions by providing the right, robust, commercially focused analysis using a variety of data sources including financial and non-financial information.
*Develop and sustain excellent, effective working relationships with the wider businesses and functions.
*Actively participate in regional management board meetings and events.
*Helping to build a collegiate team atmosphere where regular knowledge sharing and collective development is encouraged, recognised, rewarded and sustained.
*Drive forward with continuous improvement focusing on quality and timeliness of management information.
*Link financial data with key business MI to develop a broader commercial view of the business.
*Provide support and drive for the business on a number of group-wide programmes: eg Lean/Ci, finance systems transformations, strategic business reviews etc.
*Use technical and business knowledge to carry out complex financial modelling.
*Provide a service that embraces a strong customer focus across both finance and the business.

Essential:
*Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW etc)
*Proven track record of working with Executives/Senior Managers in Finance and the business of large/medium organisations
*Proven appreciation of the importance of Decision Support being commercially focused
*A good understanding of strategic dexterity: ie being able to stand back and consider the "bigger picture" and how, for example, economic and political externalities may impact that picture
*Advanced ability to distil complex, analytical problems into their key component parts and to communicate the impact of those parts on the business in a simple and easy to understand way
*Strong understanding of planning and forecasting processes and cycle
*Excellent planning and organisational abilities
*Career background in financial services management information reporting and business analysis
*Ability to express oneself clearly in both written and verbal communication.
*Recent Insurance experience is preferred.
