Our client based in Berkshire and working in the nuclear and defence sectors are looking to recruit a Commissioning Engineer on an initial 12 month contract.

The successful candidate will be required to carry out factory acceptance testing, setting to work activities, site acceptance testing and inactive commissioning in accordance with relevant commissioning procedures.

Key accountabilities
*Undertake duties and responsibilities as a Senior Commissioning Engineer as directed by the Commissioning Manager
*Review commissioning documentation for compliance with; specifications and user requirements; safety requirements;
*Legislation; Company Standards; Codes of Practice and good engineering principles
*Attendance at Design Reviews as the Commissioning representative for projects of a multi-discipline nature
*Act as deputy to the project commissioning manager

Responsibilities
*To provide commissioning support to projects in a safe and consistent manner in accordance with company procedures and site licence conditions
*To support main and sub-contractors in the commissioning of specialised equipment for installation projects
*To attend/chair test and commissioning panel meetings, produce all types of test documentation and reports to a high standard
*Support the facility with operator and maintenance training and active commissioning
*To act as a deputy to the Project Commissioning Manager
*To organise and manage commissioning activities and ensure correct resource is allocated

Qualifications
*Professional qualification in an engineering discipline
*Relevant experience in commissioning
*Ideally Full member of an appropriate Institute

Knowledge
*Good understanding of electrical design/installation/testing/commissioning experience
*Familiar with site licence conditions
*Familiar with design guides and commissioning requirements
*Legislation, standards and codes of practice
*Safety systems, practices and safety administration
*Work in commercial and industrial environments

Experience
*Experienced in the commissioning of a wide variety of equipment, processes and safety systems, organising of work packages and supervision of commissioning staff

Skills
*Computer literate, with experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite
*Possess excellent technical knowledge
*Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work constructively with people of all levels and disciplines.
*Good oral, written and presentational skills including ability to produce high standard safety documentation.
*Ability to organise and manage people to gain the best results and maintain capability.
