Description
I am currently looking for a UK Health and Safety Officer for a large telecoms company in Basingstoke. This is a 12 month maternity contract.
You will be responsible for ensuring legislative compliance for the UK site in respect of Environment, Health & Safety Legislation including, but not limited to:
- Ensuring appropriate licences/registrations are kept and are up-to-date;
- Conducting risk assessments and follow-up actions as required;
- Working on continuous improvements to workplace safety and the Health & Safety culture at the sites/within the staff population;
- Serving as a key contact for any EHS audits or inspections (internal and external);
- Performing the annual EHS compliance audit;
- Managing the relationship with the external Occupational Health Service Provider, including arranging Health Surveillance/Health Assessments for employees performing specific job tasks;
Ideally you would have
- NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or similar and should ideally have some level of IOSH membership.
- If possible a graduate of Health and Safety Management/Occupational Health subject.
- Good technical knowledge of a range of EHS subjects.
- Ability to influence and engage with people at all levels of the business.
