We have an exciting new opportunity working with one of the largest Telecommunication companies in the world. Our client is looking for RAN Optimisation Engineers to join their project based in Guildford, UK. We are looking for experienced Telecom engineers with a strong background in RAN performance or optimisation.
RAN Optimisation Engineer - Telecoms - Responsibilities:
- Carry out RAN capacity planning, dimensioning, optimisation and performance monitoring activities.
- Apply statistical methods to analyse performance counters/measurements.
- Coordinate with design/operation/deployment teams.
- Compile weekly network performance and capacity reports.
- Plan RAN capacity based on offered and carried traffic as well as forecasts for network growth.
- Derive thresholds and develop systems, processes and procedures for dimensioning and planning.
- Proactively monitoring RAN elements within the Production Network.
- Resolve network issues and problems when they arise.
- Act as interface to Radio Design Team on all aspects of RAN capacity forecasting.
RAN Optimisation Engineer - Telecoms - Experience:
- Experience in performance monitoring & network optimisation of WCDMA RAN.
- Knowledge of 3GPP, GSM, WCDMA, HSDPA/HSUPA/LTE standards.
- Experience working in a multi-vendor experience.
- SQL and Microsoft Office tools competent.
- Hands on experience of TEMS and MapInfo planning tools.
- Advanced statistical and analytical skills.
