I am currently looking for a Calculations officer for a role based in Bristol my client is a well known Bank and they want to bring a junior person on boardQualifications
- Degree level of education
- Minimum grade B at A level Mathematics
- Qualifications demonstrating a high level of numeracy preferred
- Role would suit recently qualified or part qualified actuary (but not essential)
Experience/Skills
- Has a knowledge of investment products
- Experience in calculating the value of assets & liabilities in various scenarios
- Ability to work to a high level of accuracy
- Ability to produce high volume of work
- Ability to work in an environment with tight deadlines
Job Description
- The role will be based in projects where calculations are required to carry out a comparison of investment products
- Building up a full working knowledge of internal stances and procedures for calculations (and the ability to challenge and enhance the stances over time)
- Carrying out each aspect of the calculation. In detail :
- Testing and development of software packages
- Communicating in non-technical terms with colleagues outside of the calculations team on technical aspects of calculations
- Communicating clearly with the Senior Actuary on any complex calculations or calculations
- Once recruited, there will be a requirement to meet the formal accreditation requirements of the CO role
Contract Length - 3 months
Day Rate - £200 per day
