Function Description:

End-User has developed a high available datacentre capability to service her Asset Optimisation & Trade (AOT) department in Sweden, Germany and The Netherlands with the operations of mission critical applications.

The system engineer is responsible for designing, building and operating the Unix/AIX environment of the High Availability Data Center (HA DC), including application operations and second/third line support. Continuous cooperation, interaction and alignment to the first line support team is required. Pro-active monitoring and maintenance of all Unix/AIX HA systems.

The JIP phase 2 project is responsible the migration of multiple applications and databases from the current hosting location to the new HA DC. The program consists of various projects, aimed at migrating (groups of) applications. Mostly this includes the design and set up of databases for implementation in the HA DC

Functional Skills & Experience required:

Setup and configuration of LPARS in DTA and P environments

For the AIX/Unix environment:

    • Technical and integration testing
    • Performance tuning
    • Failover testing
    • UAT preparation and execution
    • Migration preparation
    • Go live runbook execution
    • Documentation
    • Handover to IT department for operation (FIOH)

Education and Knowledge

    • IT education at academic level or equivalent
    • More than 5 year hands-on experience as Unix/AIX engineer
    • Experience must be in design/build and in operations
    • Extensive knowledge of Unix/AIX
    • Performance tuning experience
    • Fluent in English language (oral and written)
    • Selfstarter, able to work with limited guidance/supervision
    • Teamplayer
